One of our most popular coffee origins, this coffee is clean and refined with citrus, red berry and spice notes up front followed by a satisfying dark chocolate and toffee finish.
Our Asprobalbao coffee is grown by Roberto Martinez, with the support of the Asprobalbaoa grower’s group, part of the wider Cosurca Cooperative. Roberto has been growing coffee on his own farm for seven years and has been certified organic for two, although he has been working in coffee (at first as a picker and farm labourer) for over 15 years. Cosurca and Asprobalboa work closely with communities on agronomy and social projects to help the people to move past conflict.
On the farm coffee is planted among guamo and citrus trees for shade. During the harvest the coffee is had selected every 8 days, then pulped on the same day. It is them left to ferment for 14 hours before being dried in a parabolic dryer for 8-10 days.
