This is a crisp bright coffee with notes of chocolate orange and buttery caramel.
This bold flavoured coffee is grown at altitudes of between 1600 and 1800 meters in the hills between Volcan Pacaya and Lake Atlitlan in the Solola region of South West Guatemeala. The growers are mainly indigenous Mayan small holder farmers working together as a cooperative. The cooperative provides farmers with access to at least fair-trade rates for their coffee alongside technical support, credit facilities and means to export their beans. The cooperative also works to enhance the farmer’s living standards through health, education and housing projects. The coffee is 100% shade grown beneath a variety of fruit trees and an organic conversion programme is underway.
Bourbon, Caturra, Catuai
