Muddy Boots – Organic Seasonal Blend
Muddy Boots is roasted to a rich medium to bring out it’s full body and flavour and makes a lovely smooth espresso that’s great with milk. We’ve called it Muddy Boots for all the hours spent tramping in the woods above the roastery – it’s great to get back and relax with this comforting brew and our favourite dreamy chocolate cake.
And now it’s a 2016 Great Taste Award Winner too ! Here’s what the judges had to say:
“Lovely roast aroma. Creamy mouth feel – satisfying. Flavour has a good level of roast and an interesting journey of flavours with zesty, dark chocolate in a positive and challenging way. Rewarding experience with or without milk and sugar – a good flexible brew.”
Muddy Boots is currently a blend of three of our organic coffees, roasted to our espresso profile which is just a shade darker than our single origin roasts:
Uganda, White Nile – Organic
In 1998, high in north western Uganda bordering The Congo the White Nile Organic coffee project was born to harness the region’s ideal growing conditions. By training farmers in best practice and building top notch washing stations the project aims to put Uganda ‘on the map’ as the next big destination for speciality coffee. Organic, UTz & Rainforest Alliance certified.
Ethiopia, Kaffa Forest – Organic
Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified, Kaffa Forest Estate is a large family owned coffee farm. The coffee is wild and natural and approximately half of the farm remains indigenous forest with the coffee growing beneath a lush tropical canopy – nurtured by cool mountain mists and protective shade.
Sumatra, Gegarang Village – Organic
This organic and Fairtrade certified coffee is grown by a co-operative of 46 farmers from the village of Gegarang, located in the hills on the northern bank of Lake Tawar, close to Takengon in the province of Aech. After harvest it’s the unique process of semi-washing the coffee beans that imparts the character which makes Sumatran coffee so recognisable.
